Canon may release a new retro full-frame camera. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Canon AE-1, Canon is expected to launch a retro camera based on the AE-1 in the fourth quarter of 2025 or the beginning of the first quarter of 2026

Retro cameras are popular and well received in the current market. Nikon obviously excels in this field, otherwise they would not continue to launch models like the mirrorless Nikon Zfc and Zf.

Canon's new EOS RE-1 camera will not be positioned in the high-end line

The rumored parameters are as follows:

Using the same non-stacked 24-megapixel sensor as the EOS R6 MarkI and R8,

The positioning is similar to the Nikon Zf,

Focusing on photo photographers, so it will not be as popular as the new EOS R6 MarkIII.

Equipped with in-body image stabilization

Not a re-shelled version of the EOS R8
